Dr. John Wehe
Practice Owner/Veterinarian
Dr. Wehe is a Greensboro native and a 2007 graduate of NC State University College of Veterinary Medicine. After graduation, Dr. Wehe returned to Greensboro, with his family, to practice veterinary medicine. Over that time, he has developed an interest in small animal medicine, dentistry, soft tissue surgery and diagnostic ultrasound. He has also continued to develop his ability to provide veterinary care for exotic small animals such as ferrets, rabbits, guinea pigs and birds. Following a desire to have an animal hospital in the downtown area, Dr. Wehe opened Downtown Greensboro Animal Hospital in the spring of 2013.
Dr. Wehe shares his life with his amazing wife and their 4 lovely children and their sweet pups Boaz and Cricket. Together they enjoy their church, swimming and gardening.
Dr. Michelle Parenteau, CVA
Associate Veterinarian
After a rewarding career as an Aerospace Engineer in the U.S. Air Force, Dr. Michelle Parenteau followed her passion for animals and the human-animal bond into veterinary medicine. Originally from Colorado, she has lived throughout the western U.S. before making North Carolina her home in 2019.
Dr. Parenteau has a special interest in behavioral medicine, as well as sports medicine, rehabilitation, and veterinary acupuncture. She is certified in veterinary acupuncture and enjoys incorporating it into her treatment plans to support pain management and overall wellness. She enjoys working with animals of all kinds—whether they have fur, feathers, scales, or hooves—and is dedicated to providing thoughtful, individualized care.
Outside of the clinic, she can be found training her dogs for competition, hiking, kayaking, or making what she affectionately calls “very bad art.” Dr. Parenteau lives on a small farm with her dogs, goats, horse, donkey, chickens, and cats—embracing the lively chaos that comes with it.
