Practice Manager

Sarah has been an integral part of our practice since its inception in 2013, initially working part-time before transitioning to a full-time role as practice manager in 2020. Hailing from North Carolina, she has a deep-rooted connection to Naples, Florida, where her passion for veterinary care began in 2008. With her extensive experience across all facets of the hospital, Sarah particularly thrives when working with exotic animals, with a special affinity for ferrets and anything basset hound related.

Angela

Inventory Manager

Angela became a valued member of our team in the fall of 2022, bringing with her a fresh perspective and eagerness to learn in the veterinary field. Despite being new to the industry, her passion for understanding animal behavior and zoonotic diseases has been evident from the start. Angela’s dedication to expanding her knowledge in these areas has quickly made her an asset to our practice. Beyond her professional pursuits, Angela finds joy in spending time with her loved ones, including her canine companion, Canelo.

Erica

Registered Veterinary Technician

Erica, a proud native of North Carolina’s Piedmont region, embarked on her veterinary career after graduating from Central Carolina Community College in 2006 as a Registered Veterinary Technician. During her time at Central Carolina Community College, she received comprehensive training in various aspects of veterinary care, including disease recognition and management, patient care, surgery and anesthesia, radiology, and client communications. Armed with this knowledge and expertise, she embarked on her professional journey, working at several hospitals in the community before joining us to help establish DGAH in 2013.

Since then, she has been an indispensable member of our team, bringing her expertise in surgery and anesthesia to our practice. Outside of work, Erica finds fulfillment in her roles as a devoted wife and mother to her three boys. In her leisure time, she indulges her creative side through crafting, a passion that brings balance and joy to her life beyond the clinic.

Joe

Veterinary Assistant

Joe is a native Long Islander but has called NC home since 2006. He has worked in the veterinary field for over 10 years and has been with our hospital since we opened in 2013. His areas of interest are dental health and hygiene. When he’s not here polishing your pet’s pearly whites he enjoys catching a NY Mets game or New England Patriots game and spending as much time outdoors as possible with his wife and son.

Henry

Veterinary Assistant

Born with a deep love for animals and a passion for adventure, Henry’s journey to becoming a veterinarian began at UNC Asheville, where he completed his undergraduate studies in 2019. Now, he’s pursuing his dream at Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine, specializing in exotic animal care and rehabilitation. Outside of academics, Henry is a dedicated sports fan and enjoys spending time outdoors, immersing himself in the wonders of nature. With his unwavering commitment and boundless enthusiasm, Henry is poised to make a lasting impact in the field of veterinary medicine.

Carolina

Veterinary Assistant

Caro joined our hospital in 2023 as a part time veterinary assistant. Originally from Bogota Colombia she is an aspiring veterinary student with a passion for animal cate. Her dedication to learning and her compassionate approach makes her a valuable member of our team. Caro is committed to gaining hands-on experience while pursuing her dream of becoming a veterinarian. In her free time, she enjoys volunteering at local animal rescues and exploring new places in and around North Carolina.

Karlotta

Veterinary Assistant

Karlotta joined our team in May, 2023. With over a decade of experience in animal care, she’s a graduate of Cape Fear Community College and Alamance Community College.
Off-duty, Karlotta’s passion lies in her thriving blueberry farm, where she dreams of expanding to include raspberries. Family time is precious to her, whether exploring the outdoors or enjoying magical moments at Walt Disney World.
Karlotta’s genuine warmth and dedication make her an invaluable part of our team.

Mayra

Mayra joined our team in the Fall if 2024. While she is new to veterinary medicine, she brings over 10 years of experience in the animal care industry. Her intelligence, strong work ethic, and genuine drive to learn have quickly set her apart, and she has already become one of our most valuable team members.

Mayra is passionate about helping both animals and people, which is reflected not only in her work but also in her dedication to volunteering in her free time. Outside of the hospital, she’s the only girl in a house full of boys—sharing life with her husband, two sons, and their wire-haired pointer, Mr. Cricket. Mayra’s compassion, enthusiasm, and commitment to growth make her a wonderful asset to our team and our clients.

Taylor

Veterinary Assistant

Taylor brings over 10 years of veterinary experience to our team, with a background that spans both large and small animal medicine. She has a particular passion for surgery, especially dental procedures, and takes great pride in providing high-quality patient care.
Originally from Northern Virginia, Taylor grew up immersed in the equestrian world and spent much of her childhood competing in hunter/jumper events with her horses. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time at the barn with her husband and daughter and caring for her beloved animals, which include Parker the golden retriever, Tiki the cat, a mini donkey named Winnie, five sheep, and her amazing goat, Derby. In her downtime, Taylor also enjoys listening to music.

Crystal

Veterinary Assistant

Crystal is originally from Staten Island NY and moved to Charlotte NC in 2007. After marrying her husband, Jay, in 2014 they spent several years moving to different states across the country while serving in the US Army. While living in Kansas (Her favorite place to call Home!) Crystal discovered her passion for animal care while working at a long-term boarding facility for service members and their pets. In 2019 her and Jay settled into Greensboro to be closer to family. Crystal has loved animals for as long as she can remember and once dreamed of being the next Steve Irwin. In her spare time she enjoys hiking with Jay and their fur family of 3; Angel, Luke & Marceline the cat.
